UNEXPECTED, AUTHENTIC AND EXTRAORDINARY

Pergine Valsugana - Cheerful, tantalizing, fizzy, lively: always irresistible, bubbles with their effervescence and freshness are perfect to accompany summer evenings between outdoor dinners and aperitifs at sunset.
From Trentino to Sicily, every region of Italy has its own sparkling wine that authentically and uniquely expresses the peculiarities of the terroir from which it is born: a winemaking treasure where the labels that shine are not only those produced with the classic international blend (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) but also the sparkling wines obtained from traditional grapes of our country .

In many cases little known and at risk of extinction, the ancient Italian native varieties with their important acidity allow us to obtain extraordinary bubbles of great character : true gems to drink that Proposta Vini has been promoting since 2004 with the project " Bollicine da uve italiane" , a collection of 42 sparkling wines that well represent the variety, multiplicity and peculiarity of our territory. Of these 42 we have selected six perfect for the summer:

THE CHIMERA
AE ROSÉ BRUT NATURE
In the heart of the Susa Valley, Stefano Turbil founded the La Chimera farm in 2005 with the aim of enhancing the territory and its varieties (such as Avanà and Becuet), recovering old terraces above 700 meters above sea level that were at risk of abandonment. And it is precisely from the increasingly rare red grapes of Avanà that Ae is born, Rosé Brut Nature which with its strong character tells a lot about the valley from which it comes. Copper in color, on the nose it reveals intense fruity aromas, raspberry and strawberry above all, while in the mouth it conquers with a good acidity combined with the finesse of the bubbles. The ideal pairing with pizza, mixed fried food, creamed cod, vegetable lasagna, eggplant parmigiana and grilled chicken.

CLAUDIA AUGUSTA
NEGRON DE ORZAN EXTRA BRUT BLANC DE NOIR
Led by Daniele Endrici, the Claudia Augusta project (named after the famous Roman road that has been a bridge between Italy and Germany for centuries) preserves some of the oldest and most unique grape varieties in Trentino, including Negron de Orzan, a very rare and almost extinct vine.
From these native grapes, grown in the Madonnina di Civezzano vineyard, comes the Negron de Orzan Extra Brut Blanc de Noir Metodo Classico. Straw yellow in color, this bubble offers a delicate bouquet on the nose with hints of ripe apple and pear and hints of citrus. On the palate it is fresh, lively and mineral, with a beautiful structure and creaminess, all accompanied by fine, elegant and persistent bubbles. The balance between the fruity freshness and the mineral note make it perfect as an aperitif and to be enjoyed with seafood appetizers, shellfish, sushi, fish carpaccio, fresh cheeses and poultry dishes.

THE BRACKET
NEVER HEARD IT
A fresh and convivial sparkling wine, which in its immediacy tells the salient features of the territory: here is Mai Sentito by La Staffa, an organic farm located on the hills of Staffolo (AN) that produces artisanal wines with a strong identity. Refermented on yeasts with the ancestral method, this pét-nat is made from Verdicchio (80%) and Trebbiano (20%) grapes grown on calcareous clay soils rich in calcium carbonate that give the wine a particular flavor. A bubble that stands out for its great crunchiness with an intense, very persistent, fine and fruity aroma in which you can detect hints of yeast, bread making and wild fennel. In the mouth it is dry, refreshing and quite soft. Very balanced and persistent, it goes well with fish appetizers, fried food, shellfish, fresh cheeses but also sliced meats and cured meats.

BOAR
SHEEP EXTRA BRUT 30 MONTHS MC
Promoting the winemaking heritage and producing wines that follow the traditions linked to the territory is the mission of Verro, a farm in Formicola, in the upper Caserta area, which has rediscovered the ancient Coda di Pecora vine, whose recognition and inclusion in the official list of Italian vines was completed only in 2023. The only company to produce wines with pure Coda di Pecora grapes, Verro offers a sparkling version that ages for 30 months. Straw yellow in color with golden reflections, Sheep Extra Brut 30 months releases aromas of melannurca, citrus and broom while in the mouth it is fresh, with a marked flavor and a fine and persistent perlage. Try it with seafood appetizers, raw fish, pasta with scampi and clams, cheeses.

ANSALDI
ANSALDI BRUT
In Sicily, on the Feudi di Marsala plateau, Giacomo Ansaldi and his family have chosen to pass on the culture of Perpetuo wine using the traditional production method of the area. An important recovery action aimed at safeguarding a unique heritage: that of the precious ancestor of Marsala, whose origins date back to the time of the Phoenicians and Carthaginians and whose particularity lies in the particular aging technique that involves remaining in barrels forever.
Guardian of this tradition, Ansaldi has chosen to use Perpetuo to create the liqueur de dosage for its Ansaldi Brut, a Classic Method obtained from the early harvest of the best organically grown Grillo biotypes. Featuring a fine and persistent perlage, this Brut envelops the nose with complex citrus scents punctuated by pleasant notes of honey and toasted bread. In the mouth it is fresh and persistent and for this reason ideal to uncork at aperitif time.

QUARTOMORO
Q BRUTAL NATURE
Producing wines that are an expression of the Sardinian land, its biodiversity and the grape varieties grown in this region is the goal of the Quartomoro winery that in 2009 decided to try producing sparkling wine driven by the curiosity "to see, feel and taste a traditional Sardinian grape with bubbles". Thus, from Vermentino grapes, Q is born, a sparkling wine that the aging on the lees for 24 months gives a pleasant olfactory complexity, with floral and Mediterranean herb scents, all supported by a good minerality. On the palate it is lively, fresh and elegant, with a good balance between iodine notes, ripe fruit and spices. To be enjoyed throughout the meal, with fish and white meat menus but also with pizza and savory pies.
Retail price: 23 euros
