Harvest in the Ferrari vineyards concluded last week, bringing to an end a month of incredibly intense activity. The first impressions confirm the outstanding potential of this vintage, with exceptionally healthy Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes showing a perfect balance between sugars and acidity.
Once again, Trentino’s mountain viticulture has demonstrated its ability to safeguard the quality of our grapes, making it possible to retain freshness even in unusually warm years. Thanks to the variety of altitudes, sun exposures, and diversity of soil types, we are able to face increasingly complex climatic conditions with flexibility and confidence every year.
In the winery, work continues in the spirit of innovation. Thanks to recent investments, together with the novel experiment of using artificial intelligence to support quality control, the process of transforming healthy grapes into beautiful wines is becoming increasingly precise. And while the last bunches are being harvested, a new chapter has begun for the grapes already delivered.
The journey will continue until next spring, when the wines will be ready to begin their second fermentation in the bottle and their long ageing on the lees—a slow process that will, over time, give rise to elegant, complex and long-lived Trentodoc sparkling wines.
