"SICILY WINE IS AMONG THE ITALIAN REGIONS WITH THE HIGHEST GROWTH MARGINS"

IRVO in Paris from 9 to 11 February will showcase the Sicilian supply chain. with 41 wineries in one of the most important events in the world

"Sicily's presence at Wine Paris is growing significantly, and, along with Vinitaly Italia, it is one of the main events promoting the supply chain and the story of what is being produced," stated Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida this morning at Wine Paris 2026, in the Sicilian group exhibition promoted by Irvo . " Beyond wine, there are some very positive suggestions : Sicily is an extraordinary land, unparalleled in some respects, and not just in terms of native grape varieties. There's a story behind it, history and identity. We believe Sicily is among the Italian regions with the greatest potential for growth ."

Minister Lollobrigida, accompanied by the Italian Ambassador to Paris , Emanuela D'Alessandro , and the President of ICE Italy, Matteo Zoppas, was welcomed into the Sicilian Region 's collective by IRVO Extraordinary Commissioner, Giusy Mistretta , and IRVO Director, Vito Bentivegna . The Sicilian wine industry's major challenge in this extraordinary 2026 edition sees the broad participation of 41 wineries and focuses on the "Sicily of Wine. Roots of the Future" project, promoted by the Sicilian Region's Regional Department for Agriculture, Rural Development, and Mediterranean Fisheries .

"We have invested heavily in the Italian wine supply chain," Minister Lollobrigida continued. "We have increased our investment from €100 million to €1 billion. We are investing in the countryside, starting with alcohol, tradition, history, and environmental protection through our vineyards, fostering the economic growth of our companies and regions, which can further improve employment rates. We have enabled Italian companies to believe in themselves even more, broadening their international vision."

Wine Paris 2026, inaugurated today, February 9, will continue until February 11, 2026 , at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles .
