Ukraine: A Generation of Fathers Lost

Dear Friends, 

Whether war continues or peace prevails, in Ukraine, a generation of fathers has been lost!

Two weeks ago, I announced that we are printing and distributing The Real Story of Jesuscoloring book sets for Christmas. Since then, we have had more meetings with pastors in Ukraine and they told us about one situation at the forefront of their minds:

“Many fathers have been killed in the war. And many who are still alive are gone as well. They have a blank stare. They have nightmares from the atrocities they have witnessed. Nearly a generation of fathers are lost.”

In the face of such a tragic situation, what is the significance of sending coloring books?

I was reluctant to even offer The Real Story of Jesuscoloring book sets to churches in Ukraine. I felt embarrassed and a bit ashamed as this was all I was offering amid such suffering. But the pastors did not see it this way.  

“Please send as many as you can. These are an excellent resource. We can give the children a moment of peace as they color and learn more about the God Who loves them and how He sent His only Son to suffer and die for them!”

I don’t know when the war in Ukraine will end. But I do know that the greater part of a generation of children will grow up without their fathers. At least, it can never be the way it used to be before the war.

This Christmas we can give “a moment of peace” and share the love of Christ with children in war-torn Ukraine. A complete set consisting of The Real Story of Jesus illustrated storybook, coloring book, and a set of colored pencils can be sponsored for only $9.

We have already printed our first batch of books in Ukrainian and distribution has begun! We want to start printing again as soon as possible. Your gift will be immediately used to print more The Real Story of Jesus coloring book sets.

There is no limit to how many we can print and distribute. Please prayerfully consider sponsoring one or more sets now. Maybe even give in honor or memory of loved ones. I want to tell the printer to fire up the presses again as soon as possible!
