THE FRAGRANCE LOUIS XV 1722
Louis XV 1722 is a rare fragrance inspired by the eponymous Louis XV cuvée from the Champagne House de Venoge. This cuvée pays tribute to the King of France, who, by permitting the transportation of Champagne in bottles—thus allowing the wine to develop its sparkle and effervescence—gave birth to Champagne as we know it.

At Versailles, under the reign of Louis XV, courtly luxury established perfume as a prestigious adornment to wear when appearing before the king. It was during this time that perfume became an indispensable accessory. The Court of Versailles became known as "the perfumed Court," as one was expected to wear a different fragrance each day. The Marquise de Pompadour, the king's official mistress, a refined woman and patroness of the arts, was a great admirer of perfume and helped develop the art of presentation, notably through the use of crystal or porcelain bottles for her precious scents.

The Louis XV 1722 fragrance embodies the luxurious codes of the era with an exceptionally refined bottle. The mention "1722" refers to the year of King Louis XV's coronation at the Reims Cathedral, the heart of Champagne.

Captivated by the exceptional Louis XV cuvée from the Champagne House de Venoge, Xerjoff Perfume took inspiration from it to create the fragrance Louis XV 1722. This collaboration between the Champagne House and the Perfume House brought this unique fragrance to life, capturing the very essence of luxury.
